Well, I made my REI.UN purchase, but closer to $19/share than today’s close of $18/share. OUCH! Waiting and buying at closer to $18 would have saved me almost $200 or about 5% of my purchase.

Alas, a lesson learned: wait until quarterly performance reports come out, and the market settles, before making an investment purchase. My consolation prize is that amongst the market turmoil, REI.UN dividends are expected to continue for 2010 @ $0.11/share. The Globe and Mail had a good article about the decline of REI.UN today. Disappointed, yes, about the purchase price but better to have some REI.UN than none at all; it will rebound in time.
